The
Peaceful Deities
The
chief of the peaceful ones, upon
a lion throne, lotus, sun and moon, is
Guru Samantabhadra, deep blue, with
the hand gesture of equanimity, embracing his consort. His
consort is white. They are endowed with sambhogakaya ornaments.
In
the center is white Vairochana. His right hand is holding a wheel and
his left a bell. His consort is white. She holds a bell in her right
hand and with her left hand she raises amrita to his lips.
In
the east is Akshobya with consort. He is dark blue. In his right hand
he holds a dorje and in his left a bell. His consort holds a bell in
her right hand and with her left hand she raises amrita to his lips.
To
their right is white Kshiti Garbha a precious/jewelled
seedling/sprout. Lasya is white. In her left hand she is holding a
mirror.
To
the left is Maitreya, a cream colour. In his right hand he holds a
naga tree. Dhupa/Pushpa (is also of a) cream colour holding a censor.
In his left hand and her right hand are bells.
All
of them rest in equanimity/nampar jor*.
In
the south is Ratnasambhava with consort. Yellow, holding a jewel in
hir right hand. In his left is a bell. His consort holds a bell in
her roight hand and with her left hand she raises amrita to his lips.
To
their right is Akasha Garbha. Yellow, holding a sword in his right
hand. Mala, yellow, holds a jeweled mala in her left hand.
On
the left is Nivarana Vishkambhin. Orange. Holding a wheel n his right
hand. Pushpa orange, holding a flower in her left hand.
The
males are holding a bell in their left hands and their consorts are
holding a bell in their right hands.
In
the west Amitabha with consort. Red. Holding a lotus in his right
hand. In his left hand he holds a bell. His consort holds a bell in
her right hand and with her left hand she raises amrita to his lips.
On
their right is red Avalokiteshvara. In his right hand he holds a
white lotus. Girti is red and holds a lute in her left hand.
On
their left is Samantabhadra red-green. Holding jewel in his right
hand. Aloka also red-green holds a lamp in her left hand. The males
are holding a bell in their left hands and their consorts are holding
a bell in their right hands.
In
the north Amoghasiddhi with consort. Green. Holding a vajra-cross in
his right hand and a bell in his left. His consort holds a bell in
her right hand and with her left hand she raises amrita to his lips.
To
their right Vajrapani dark blue (green?)*. Holding a vajra yak
tail/whisk in his right hand. Nirti is light blue. Her left hand is
in the dancing mudra/gesture.
On
their left is Manjushri. Light green. Holding an utpala flower in his
right hand. Gandhe light green. Her left hand holds a conch filled
with perfume. The males are holding a bell in their left hands and
their consorts are holding a bell in their right hands.
The
munis of the six classes: Indra is white and is holding a lute.
Shakyamuni is yellow and is holding a begging bowl. Jvalamukha
(Khabar) is dark yellow and is holding a small chest. Senge Rabten*
is dark red and is holding book. Vemachitra is dark blue and is
holding a sabre. Dharmaraja is black and is carrying fire and water.
At
the four gates: Yamantaka, dark maroon, holding up a nri head; his
wrathful consort, (Chagkyuma) is also dark maroon embraces him while
holding an iron hook. Mahabala is dark yellow, holds a vajra* cudgel;
his wrathful consort, (Shagpama,) is dark yellow and she holds a
lasso/snare. Hayagriva, dark red, holds a skull and a cudgel entwined
with snakes*; his wrathful consort (Chagdrogma) is dark red and she
holds iron shackles. Amritakundali, green, holds a vajra cross and a
cudgel; his wrathful consort (Drilbuma) is dark green and she
embraces him while holding a bell. All of the couples raise their
left hand in the threatening gesture.
The
Wrathful Deities
The
chief is Chemchok Heruka, indigo. His right face is white, his left
red. In his three right hands he holds nine-, five- and three-pronged
vajras. In his three left hands he holds skull-cups with blood. His
consort is light blue and is holding a vajra and skull-cup with
blood.
In
the center, Buddha Heruka is dark maroon. His right face is white and
his left is yellow. In his three right hands he is holding a wheel, a
vajra, and a tira. In his left hands a bell, a fresh skull, and a
trident. His consort is light maroon.
In
the east, Vajra Heruka is indigo. His right face is white and his
left face is red. In his three right he holds a nine-pronged vajra, a
five-pronged vajra and a tira. In his three left hands he is holding
a bell, a fresh skull and the world. His consort is light blue (and
performs) the six powerful acts of pacifying.
In
the south, Ratna Heruka is dark yellow. His right face is green anfd
his left face is red. His three right hands hold a jewel, a vajra
and a tira. His three left hands hold a bell, a red conch a battle
axe. His consort is light yellow (and performs) the six acts of
increasing*.
In
the west, Lotus Heruka is dark red. His right face is white and his
left face is yelow. His three right hands hold a lotus, a vajra and
a tira. His three left hands hold a bell, a skull with blood and a
small drum. His consort is light red (and performs) the six acts of
magnetizing.*
In
the north, Karma Heruka is dark green. His right face is white and
his left face is red. His three right hands hold a vajra cross, a
vajra and a tira. His three left hands hold a bell, a red conch a
ploughshare. His consort is light yellow (and performs) the six
wrathful acts*.
